Here are some of the best luxury hotels in Tbilisi that you’ll want to check out on your next visit.
❤️ Best overall luxury hotel in Tbilisi: Castle in Old Town
👑 Best high-end luxury hotel: Ambassadori Tbilisi Hotel
😌 Best quiet and very beautiful luxury hotel: Bioli Wellness Resort
I’ve been living in Tbilisi for the past few months.
One of my favorite cities in the world, Georgia’s capital offers great food, close-by hikes, interesting history, friendly faces, and a curious mish-mash of loads of different stuff.
And because it’s way more affordable than lots of the planet’s other capital cities, it’s a good place to splash out on some budget-friendly luxury. So in this guide, I’ve brought you the best luxury hotels in Tbilisi.
My favorite of them all, and the one I recommend, is the strangely-named Castle in Old Town, but we’ll come to all that and much more soon.
For a quiet and very beautiful location, I recommend staying at Bioli Wellness Resort (click on the link to check the photos and see yourself why I recommend Bioli! It’s outstandingly beautiful!)

Best Luxury Hotels in Tbilisi: in and Around Liberty Square (The Very Center of Tbilisi)
1. Castle in Old Town
✉️ 3 Betlemi Rise
From an almost-castle to an actual castle, this one is back over the Old-Town side of the river… and this is my #1 pick for the best luxury hotel in Tbilisi. And surprisingly, it’s super affordable (compared to other options and to similar hotels in other countries).
The only privately-owned castle in the entire city, this place is close to Narikala Fortress, and it feels a little removed from the busy bustle of the rest of Tbilisi (but it’s still within walking distance of all the good stuff).
Inside, you get strange antiques, exposed brickwork, and lots of wooden surfaces—staying here makes you feel like some ancient royal.
The real highlight here is the outdoor infinity pool, which offers incredible views of the city.

🗨️ Guest review: “We found the castle outstanding, all our rooms were beautiful and really comfortable and the pool and terrace is wonderful, overlooking the city All the staff were really helpful and welcoming and the two receptionists George and Jeremy were great and really made a difference to our stay. Finally the breakfasts were outstanding. We will be back!!” — Elizabeth, UK
2. The Biltmore – 5☆
✉️ 29 Rustaveli Avenue, Mtatsminda
Most people know this place as one of the fanciest hotels in Tbilisi.
Because it’s right in the middle of one of the city’s main streets, and because it measures in at a lofty 31 floors, it’s a pretty famous place—the first glass skyscraper in the whole of Georgia, it looms over the central part of the city.
So if you want good views, this is one of the best options on our list. It also offers a spa, a fitness center, and an indoor pool.
The buffet breakfast has plenty of variety, the rooms are nice and spacious, and it’s in an absolutely perfect location, right between the city’s two most central metro stations.

🗨️ Guest review: “Beautiful hotel in central Tbilisi. Our room had incredible panoramic views over the Old Town and river. We enjoyed the bath with gorgeous views of the Holy Trinity Cathedral. The staff were very helpful. They arranged airport pickup, helped us with taxi bookings, and obtained a sulphur bath booking at Chreli Abano. We loved Tbilisi and are looking forward to being able to return stay again” — Gordon, UAE
3. The Wyndham Grand – 5☆
✉️ 3 Lado Gudiashvili Street
Pretty close to the Biltmore, you have the Wyndham Grand. Close to the Old Town and most of the stuff you’ll want to see, this is a perfect location.
The beds are as comfortable as you’ll find anywhere in Tbilisi, the blackout curtains are a welcome addition in a nation where most people seem to have an aversion to drapes, and the design of the place (both inside and out) is very modern, classy, and minimal.
The breakfast is massive, with good vegan and vegetarian options.
Overall, this is a great all-rounder right in the heart of the city.
- Location: Right beside Liberty Square
- Stars: 5
- Price range: $$

- Pet-friendly? No
- Spa? Yes

🗨️ Guest review: “The staff went above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome and safe during a power outage on one of the days. Things like that happen – the way they dealt with the situation though was exceptional. Luka is my personal hero!” — Alexandra-irina, Germany
4. The Marriott – 5☆
✉️ Rustaveli Avenue 13, Mtatsminda
Sitting between the two hotels we’ve just featured, you have The Marriott. Again, it’s perfectly-located.
Elegant and ostentatious, this is as fancy as Tbilisi hotels get.
The decor is luxurious in a classy way, with pillars, marble and other flourishes lurking on every corner. The staff are really helpful, the entire hotel is as clean as any other hotel in Tbilisi, and the buffet breakfast is massive.
If you’re avoiding pomp and pretense, you’ll want to avoid this place. But if you’re not, you’ll love it.

5. Courtyard by Marriott – 4☆
✉️ Freedom Square 4
Around a ten-minute walk from the Marriott we’ve just featured, this hotel is newly-renovated… so it has all the modern touches you’d expect, including an indoor pool, a fitness center, and a sauna. They even offer on-site massages!
It’s a little more laid-back and minimalistic than the other Marriott, but it’s still a very fancy place, with some of the shiniest interiors I’ve ever seen.
Because it’s only a 4-star, it’s a little more affordable and low-key than the other Marriott option, but it’ll still satisfy all but the pickiest of travelers.
The buffet breakfast isn’t as varied as some of the higher-end options on our list.
- Location: Liberty Square
- Stars: 4
- Price range: $$
- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? No
- Spa? Yes
- Jacuzzi? Yes
- Pool(s)? Yes
6. IOTA Hotel – 4☆
✉️ 10 Lermontov Street
Heading very slightly south, you have the IOTA, one of the most affordable of Tbilisi’s central high-end hotels. It’s a little more laid-back and hip than most of the places we’ve featured so far.
Perfect for young couples who want to splash a little cash, it’s cozy, comfortable, spacious, and a great compromise between elegant and bohemian.
Unassuming from the outside, IOTA Hotel has a rooftop bar, pastel-hued rooms, and a presumed passion for minimalism.
If you want to be surrounded by lots of diminutive, laid-back nightlife spots, this is a great part of the city. The rooms are a little small, but that’s the only real negative.
- Location: On the border between Solalaki and Rustaveli

- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? No
- Spa? No
- Jacuzzi? No
- Pool(s)? No
7. Theory Hotel
✉️ 38 Alexandre Dumas Street
Next up, and right beside the Wyndham Grand, you have the Theory Hotel.
More arty and unusual than all the other accommodations we’ve featured so far, the interiors at this place are pretty, kooky and creative.
The spaces are big, the beds are comfortable, and every room has its own coffee machine!
The breakfasts are a la carte, the hotel is a little quieter than most other accommodations in this part of town, it’s very affordable compared to some of the other places we’ve featured, and it’s super close to Liberty Square metro station.
- Location: Liberty Square
- Price range: $
- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? No
- Spa? No
- Jacuzzi? No
- Pool(s)? No
8. Ambassadori – 5☆
✉️ Shavteli Street N17
Just east of the Theory Hotel, you have the Ambassadori, one of the classiest joints on this list.
Apparently, the furniture was designed and crafted specifically for the hotel, which I suppose is interesting if you’re into that sort of thing.
It offers marble bathrooms, lots of wood and leather, and the sort of decor that looks somehow both modern and dated. There’s a casino inside the hotel, along with perfume stores, lots of food and drink, and a so-called ‘sun terrace.’
If you want to feel like a celebrity, you’ll love this place. And best of all, it’s a little cheaper than you’d expect.
- Location: Northern Sololaki
- Stars: 5
- Price range: $$
- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? No
- Spa? Yes
- Jacuzzi? No
- Pool(s)? Yes
9. Bazzar Boutique Hotel
✉️ 3 Pkhovi Street, Mtatsminda
I promise I haven’t spelled that wrong (though I can’t guarantee the owners of the place haven’t).
One of the lesser-known central-Tbilisi options, this one is also right in the heart of the city, between Rustaveli and Liberty Square.
A new addition to the Tbilisi hotel scene, you can tell it’s fresh—it’s clean and organized, and the staff are super attentive. They even offer guided tours!
Stylish in a flamboyant and garish way, it’s an art aficionado’s dream, with stripey furniture, bold colors, and lots of strange fixtures and fittings.
The beds are very comfortable, the a la carte breakfast is tasty, and it’s a strangely-homely place.
- Location: Rustaveli
- Price range: $$
- Airport shuttle? No
- Pet-friendly? No
- Spa? No
- Jacuzzi? No
- Pool(s)? No
10. Hotel Aqua Liberty – 4☆
✉️ 15 Aleksandr Pushkin Street
In the same area again, right beside Liberty Square, you have Hotel Aqua Liberty.
Offering some of the strangest decor on this list, the hotel looks like it was designed by some eccentric medieval British king. Although it looks all classy and upmarket, they don’t have spas, pools, or any other similar stuff.
They offer tours, a continental buffet breakfast, decent prices, and a brilliant location right beside the metro. It’s a little noisy, and the rooms are fairly small, but it’s otherwise a great spot.
- Location: Liberty Square
- Stars: 4
- Price range: $$
- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? No
- Spa? No
- Jacuzzi? No
- Pool(s)? No
11. Stamba Hotel – 5☆
✉️ 14 Merab Kostava Street
Possibly the most famous hotel in Tbilisi, Stamba is lots of different things.
Home to a library, a bookstore, an amphitheater, a multimedia museum, and some great food and drink, it’s a so-called “living, breathing reflection of the city’s growing global significance” (whatever that means).
It’s also an alternative hipster spot, so if you want a unique combo of high-end and bohemian, you’ve somehow found Tbilisi’s perfect solution. It’s not quite as classy as some other spots in the city, but it’s pretty close.
All that said, it comes at a price, and it’s more expensive than you’d expect.
- Location: Northern Rustaveli

- Price range: $$$
- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? Yes
- Spa? No
- Jacuzzi? No

12. Boutique Hotel Day Inn
✉️ 8 Leo Kiacheli Street
Very close to Stamba, Hotel Day Inn has some of the kindest, smiliest staff in the whole of Tbilisi.
The rooms are very clean, and the decor is sparse but pretty.
Best of all, the continental buffet breakfast is massive, with Georgian specialities along with more standard fayre. For trying Georgian eats and treats, this is one of the best venues on our list.
The hotel is located right beside Rustaveli metro station. There are some great places to eat, drink and party here—it’s one of the most bustling areas of the city.
- Location: Rustaveli
- Price range: $$$
- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? No
- Spa? No

13. Vinotel Boutique Hotel – 4☆
✉️ Elene Akhvlediani ascent, №4
Just over the river from both the Old Town and Liberty Square (and all the hotels we’ve featured so far), the Vinotel Boutique Hotel is endlessly charming—staying here makes you feel like you’re right inside your own little Georgian castle.
With a hybrid build of glass and wood (and lots of unique touches both modern and retro), this is one of the most stylish, interesting, and unusual accommodations we’ve featured. It has stained-glass windows, 2 sunny terraces, and excellent traditional food.
In 2017, it won two awards: “The Best Small Luxury Hotel in Eastern Europe” and “The Best Boutique Hotel in Georgia”.

Best Luxury Hotels in Other Parts of Central Tbilisi
14. Unfound Door Design Hotel – 4☆
✉️ 111 Davit Aghmashenebeli Avenue Building 111, Chugureti
This self-styled ‘design hotel’ is in Marjanishvili, a couple of metro stations north of Liberty Square. One of my favorite neighborhoods in the city (and where I currently live), Marjanshvili is quaint and cute, with a laid-back atmosphere and lots of low-level townhouses.
Unfound Door is set inside one of those old-school wooden-fronted homes. The decor is classic in a very minimalistic and pared-back way, and the whole place is really welcoming and charming.
Because you’re just over the river from the Old Town, the views from the upper levels of the hotel are brilliant. If you want to be central without being right in the heart of the city, this place is perfect.
And to top it all off, have a huge range of excellent spa and wellness treatments.
- Location: Marjanishvili
- Stars: 4
- Price range: $
- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? Yes, on request
- Spa? Yes
- Jacuzzi? No
- Pool(s)? No
15. Fabrika – 2☆
✉️ 8 E. Ninoshvili Str., Chugureti
Also in Marjanishvili, this choice is a bit of a leftfield one.
Okay, Fabrika isn’t what most people would consider the ultimate in luxury. But for a hostel (which is what it is), it’s a very luxurious place. If you want high-end on a budget, this is perfect.
The rooms are pretty spacious, and the decor is modern and interesting.
It’s also one of the trendiest hangouts in the city. Home to cafes, bars, restaurants, a co-working space, and about ten million hipsters, you need to explore this place when you’re in the city—and overnighting here is the best way to do it. It’s massively popular with young travelers.
- Location: Marjanishvili

- Price range: $
- Airport shuttle? Yes

- Spa? No
- Jacuzzi? No
- Pool(s)? No
16. Sheraton Grand Tbilisi Metechi Palace – 5☆
✉️ Telavi Street 20
Southeast of the Old Town, and south of Avlabari, you have this place. It’s a top contender for one of the most luxurious hotels on our list.
Absolutely massive, it dominates this area of the city, and there’s plenty to love about it.
Every room has great views of the city, the rooftop restaurant has brilliant panoramas, there’s a great outdoor swimming pool, and all of the food (including the huge buffet breakfast) is excellent.
If you don’t mind being slightly outside of the city center, this really is a fantastic place to stay.
- Location: South of Avlabari
- Stars: 5
- Price range: $$
- Airport shuttle? No
- Pet-friendly? Yes
- Spa? Yes
- Jacuzzi? Yes
- Pool(s)? Yes
17. Cron Palace – 4☆
✉️ Kheivani Kucha 12/13
Even further south of Avlabari, this is one of the most laid-back accommodations on our list… so if you want a little slice of luxury without too much pretense, it’s a perfect option.
You get a hammam, a 24/7 swimming pool, spacious rooms, comfortable beds, spa facilities, massages, and pretty reasonable prices. Best of all, the staff are ridiculously friendly and accommodating—if you want to feel special, this is a great place to stay.
Popular with Jewish visitors to the city, the hotel is home to a Kosher restaurant… and even a little synagogue!
- Location: Ortachala, south of the city center
- Stars: 4
- Price range: $$
- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? Yes
- Spa? Yes
- Jacuzzi? No
- Pool(s)? Yes
18. Hilton Garden Inn
✉️ Chavchavadze Avenue 64a, Vake
Right in the heart of Vake (the most expensive and upmarket district in the city), the Hilton Garden Inn is one of the newest luxury hotels in Tbilisi.
Because of that, it’s very clean and modern, and the staff is super attentive. The rooms are huge, the buffet breakfast is excellent, and they’ll even pack you up a little breakfast if you’re leaving early in the morning!
It’s popular with business travelers, as Vake is one of the city’s big business hubs. But because it’s pretty close to all the action, it’s good for any travelers who want luxury at a decent price from a big name.
- Location: Vake
- Price range: $$
- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? Yes
- Spa? No
- Jacuzzi? No
- Pool(s)? No
19. Hotel S&L
✉️ Givi Svanidze Street 2, Vake
A great compromise between staying in the city and staying on the outskirts, this hotel is located on the western side of Vake, where the central sprawl of the city starts to blend into the nearby mountains.
From the outside, this place looks nothing special. But inside, it’s full of lovely little touches, including a sauna, a swimming pool, and a charming dining room serving up traditional homemade Georgian food. Some rooms have spa baths and hot tubs.
If you want homely luxury, rather than high-end luxury, you’ll love this place. It’s not quite as glitzy as most other options on this list, but it’s brimming with charm.
- Location: The very western side of Vake
- Price range: $$
- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? No
- Spa? Yes
- Jacuzzi? Yes
- Pool(s)? Yes
20. Best Western – 4☆
✉️ 92 Barnovi Street Tbilisi, Vake
Another chain hotel, this is a very good option if you want luxury on a budget.
Also situated in Vake (but very close to the center of the city), this one ticks a lot of boxes.
It has a modern look, with spacious rooms and lots of big windows. It’s clean and tidy, some rooms have balconies, there’s an on-site business center, and they offer tours around various parts of the city.
Best of all, it’s situated in one of the prettiest parts of the city—it’s the perfect balance between residential, city-center, laid-back and action-packed, and it’s a great location for a luxury stay.
- Location: Vake
- Stars: 4
- Price range: $

Best Luxury Hotels on the Outskirts of Tbilisi
21. Hotels & Preference Hualing Tbilisi – 5☆
✉️ Jozef Pilsudski Avenue, Tbilisi Sea New City
This strangely-named place is pretty far from the central sprawl of the city.
Sitting very close to Tbilisi Sea (an absolutely huge reservoir northeast of the city center), it’s housed in a futuristic building.
It’s hugely popular despite the unusual location, and it has a load of lovely perks. It has a gym, a huge swimming pool, lots of spa and massage packages, great meeting rooms, and a variety of food.
It’s best-suited to business travelers, but it’s a good option for anyone who doesn’t want to be right in the center of the city.
- Location: Beside Tbilisi Sea
- Stars: 5
- Price range: $$
- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? No
- Spa? Yes
- Jacuzzi? Yes
- Pool(s)? Yes
22. Bioli Wellness Resort – 5☆
✉️ 1 Bioli st, Tbilisi, Kojori
Sitting just north of Kojori, this resort is around 16km (10 miles) from Tbilisi.
So you don’t get the conveniences of staying in the heart of the city, but you do get plenty of other stuff.
Highlights include massages, hiking, yoga classes, view-packed terraces, health-focused food, and some of the best green escapes close to the center of Tbilisi. And the glass-fronted cabins are some of the highest-end bedrooms on this list.
This is a proper slice of peace, but without the typical drawbacks of staying in rural Georgia. If you like vaguely-remote escapes, you’ll absolutely love it.
It’s expensive, but places like this are absolutely worth the outlay.
- Location: Kojori, 16km (10 miles) east of Tbilisi
- Stars: 5
- Price range: $$$
- Airport shuttle? Yes
- Pet-friendly? Yes
- Spa? Yes
- Jacuzzi? No

23. Tatiko’s Villa
✉️ 34 Tsavkisi Street
A little different from everything else we’ve featured on this list, Tatiko’s Villa is around 9km (5.5 miles) from the central parts of Tbilisi.
A massive private villa that accommodates up to 16 people, this farmhouse-style family home has a beautiful garden, an outdoor pool, and lots of colorful decor and furniture.
It’s clean, tidy, spacious, and fun, and it’s nestled in a beautiful green area on the outskirts of the city. If you want rural luxury along with close proximity to central Tbilisi, this place is brilliant.
It’s a fantastic choice for huge families and other big groups.
