As newlyweds, there is nowhere more enchanting to spend a romantic honeymoon celebrating your love than Paris, France.

The city is perfect for couples in love wanting to spend time exploring and strolling the streets together as Paris has the best romantic places you can find in the world!

When planning your honeymoon trip to Paris, the city of love, here is the perfect itinerary for you love birds to truly experience the city and enjoy each other’s company.

I- When to Visit Paris for Your Honeymoon

With it being your honeymoon, you will most likely be planning your travels around your wedding date.

The beauty of Paris is that it is special and unique in every season.

Each season has both perks and downsides, so you will want to keep these in mind when making your plans.

1. Paris Honeymoon in Winter

Winter in Paris can be rather magical.

The city is covered in snow and if you are visiting during the holidays you will find it filled with twinkling lights, fresh holiday greenery, and adorable markets.

There is something truly romantic about the colder months and snuggling up with your loved one and some hot chocolate to keep warm.

The downside is that the temperatures will be rather cold, which won’t allow you to enjoy the outdoors quite as much.

This will, however, lead to smaller tourist crowds and a more local feel. The rates will also be on the lower side for hotels and flights.

2. Paris Honeymoon in Spring

Springtime will bring warmer and milder temperatures to enjoy.

There may be a few rainy days in your forecast, but there will be fewer crowds.

With it not being peak season, you will still get lower priced rates and fewer crowds for your visit.

The beauty of springtime in Paris is that the entire city will be in bloom. It is the perfect weather to stroll through gardens and parks with your loved one.

3. Paris Honeymoon in the Summer

The best time to visit Paris is during the summertime. The weather is at its best with the warmest temperatures and longer days.

It is the perfect time to enjoy the outdoors in Paris, however, that also means it is the busiest time of year.

Many locals leave during the summer for vacation and the city is packed with tourists. Prices may be higher and you may not get as much of the local feel.

With the nice weather you will find fun outdoor events, markets, and festivals to explore.

4. Paris Honeymoon During the Fall

Another ideal time to venture to Paris is during the autumn.

The temperatures are a little cooler, which means the crowds are fewer and the rates drop so it will be more affordable.

The fall will offer much more of a local feel now that Parisians are back from their summer vacations.

If you don’t mind the cooler temperatures and crisp air, it is a beautiful time of year to visit.

It truly is the city of love and here are a few romantic things to do while on your honeymoon in Paris. They are the perfect honeymoon destinations in Paris, and the perfect way to get to know the city while enjoying romantic moments with your loved one.

Pro Tip: Get a skip-the-line ticket to save time and energy during your trip. The lines can be very long and exhausting, I recommend to skip them in order to enjoy your trip and the experience; It’s absolutely worth the price.

2. La Seine and Its Magnificent Bridges

The Seine River lends itself to the perfect romantic ambiance for a newly married couple. The river flows throughout the very center of Paris.

You can choose to sit alongside the Seine in the grass areas on a bench as the water flows by or you can take a stroll along the river holding hands with your loved one.

To make it a little extra special you can take a day time or sunset cruise on the Seine where you will be able to enjoy a drink, float down the river and take in the spectacular views of the Parisian architecture.

It truly is a romantic little escape in the heart of the bustling city.

Don’t miss the gorgeous Parisian bridges that ride the Seine such as Le Pont des Arts or The Alexander III Bridge.

3. The Temple of Love

If you are looking for that truly romantic escape in Paris, one of the best spots is the Temple of Love. It is the perfect spot for couples and newlyweds.

The Temple of Love for a Honeymoon in Paris

The temple was built in 1778 by the order of Marie-Antoinette to celebrate the love between her and the King.

The temple sits on an island in the beautiful park of Versailles and can be reached by a relaxing boat ride.

It is the perfect place to visit on your honeymoon due to its tradition. The legend says that if you and your loved one kiss in the center of the temple it will strengthen your love and relationship as a couple.

4. Parisian Carousels

To top off your Paris Honeymoon Itinerary you will love checking out one of the Parisian Carousels. It is the perfect way to enjoy your evening and bring out the kid in you.

These carousels are actually more popular among adults than children and lend themselves to the perfect date night.

After you have had a fun-filled day exploring the city, stop at the carousel and take a ride enjoying the ornate detail of the architecture as the ride lights up and music fills the air.

It makes for a wonderful memory in the middle of one of the most romantic cities.

You can find Parisian Carousels across the street from The Eiffel Tower, just under the SacrΓ©-Coeur Basilica in Montmartre, in front of Hotel de Ville; and in many other places, just ask your hotel concierge and they will give you a full list of Parisian Carousels.

5. Picnics in Paris’ Parks

Paris is a beautiful city filled with parks, gardens, and cafes. It is the perfect place to enjoy being outside, taking in the scenery, enjoying some good food and talking for yours with your loved one.

There is no better way to spend the afternoon, especially when on your honeymoon.

If this sounds right up your alley, grab some delicious fresh paninis and head over to one of the public parks to enjoy the afternoon with a romantic picnic. It is the perfect way to relax for a bit between site-seeing while still enjoying the city.

6. Montmartre

One quaint little section of Paris you won’t want to miss is Montmartre.

Here you will find more of the artistic crowd since the area of the since is filled with artistic influence. This section of the city is enchanting with its boutique stores and adorable cafes.

It is the perfect place to stroll hand in hand with your loved one and check out all the little cafΓ©s, restaurants, and stores. Here you will also find the Sacre-Coeur which is a beautiful elevated church from which you can view most of Paris.

7. Take a French Cooking Class

A fun experience to add to your Paris Honeymoon itinerary is a French Cooking Class.

French Cooking Class

The French are known for their impeccable cuisine. They have some of the highest-quality food and take great pride in what they serve, so what better place to take a cooking class.

It is the perfect way to build that romantic connection with one another while learning something new together. Plus, you get to try some amazing food in the process.

Here we recommend these three french cooking classes: Macaron Cooking Class, French Cooking Class with Market Visit, or if you want a complete 3-hour initiation on french cuisine and how local french chefs cook, you can take this Cooking Class with a Parisian Chef.

Register to the one you like, they are really amazing experiences led by great French Chefs. Bon appetit! πŸ™‚

8. The Louvre

Paris is known for its artwork and has artists of all kinds flocking to it. The artist’s vibe is such a big part of the culture in the city that you won’t want to miss taking in some of the beautiful artwork while visiting.

The Louvre is a great place to start.

It is the crème de la crème of art galleries, with it being the largest in the world and home to world-renowned pieces like the Mona Lisa.

You will find that not only is the artwork in the Louvre incredible, but the architecture of the Louvre itself is also a masterpiece. The Louvre is a palace and the walls and ceilings are just as spectacular and ornate as the pieces it holds inside.

Don’t forget to get a skip-the-line ticket in advance, as lines at the Louvre tend to be very long (and very boring); the waiting can go up to two hours at peak time …

These skip-the-line tickets come in 3 forms: Simple Priority Access (and cheaper), a skip-the-line with Audio Guide, or even a skip-the-line with guided tour. Don’t go without one of these, trust me! You’ll save so much time you can spend on other activities in Paris, such as … shopping!

9. Shopping in Paris

While in Paris you will want to do a little shopping (full shopping in Paris guide here). It is one of the Fashion Capitals of the world, so naturally, you will find some of the best shopping opportunities while in the city.

You will have to check out not only the large department stores but also some of the high-end designers and the small quaint boutiques. It is the perfect way to find a fun souvenir for your honeymoon. It is a great memento to always remember your trip by.

If you are shopping on the Champs Elysees strip, make sure to check out the Arc Du Triomphe on the one end and the Place De La Concorde on the other end.

The Arc Du Triomphe is a beautiful archway that you can go to the top of and get a great view of the city. It is also home to the Unknown Soldier.

The Place de la Concorde is now just a large square that you can walk around but has a lot of history.

10. Versailles Palace & Gardens

Just outside the city, you will fall in love with the Palace of Versailles and the Versailles Gardens. It is simply gorgeous and filled with ornate decadent detail around every corner.

You will have a fun time strolling through the palace and gardens with your loved one imagining what it must have been like to live in such a place.

If the palace didn’t have you in enough amazement, the gardens will stun. They are massive and perfectly landscaped. You will not see anything like it anywhere else in the world.

To top off your visit to Versailles you can take the paddle boats out on the canal and enjoy a quiet romantic boat ride just the two of you.

Same as The Louvre you will need to organize yourself to avoid waiting 2 hours outside under a hot sun or a cold rain … not the best moments to experience as newlyweds.

There are two lines to get inside the Palace: The first line to buy tickets, then the security line.

You can skip the first by getting a ticket online but you will still have to wait for the humongous security line, or you can skip both with a dedicated Skip-the-line Ticket (with a free Audio Guide) and save 2 hours for your trip.

11. Luxembourg Gardens

Outside of the Luxembourg Palace are the Luxembourg Gardens. The Garden is one of the biggest in Paris and is beautifully landscaped.

Here you will have the beautiful view of the palace and the Garden itself is filled with quiet places to sit, write, read and talk. There is a beautiful fountain in the center of the garden perfect for lounging by and taking in the day.

Enjoy the romantic gardens by strolling through the apple orchards, viewing the orchards and sailing miniature boats on the pond. It is a beautiful stop on your visit.

12. Opera Garnier

A fun night out during your honeymoon could be a night at the Opera. You can enjoy the grand staircase, all the history within its walls and the stunning ornate beauty.

Opera Garnier is an amazing architectural masterpiece. It is the influence of the Phantom of the Opera. If you have the time to catch a show, you will find Opera and Ballet Performances held here.

If a show does not fit into your schedule, you can always pit stop while out exploring and take a tour or catch a glimpse from the outside.

13. Notre-Dame Cathedral

While out and about strolling through the streets of Paris, make sure to stop at the Notre-Dame Cathedral.

Currently, it is closed to the public for tours while being renovated, but the structure itself is still absolutely stunning and worth seeing from the outside.

It is one of the most well-known Catholic Churches in the world and the architecture is incredible.

III- Where to Stay for a Honeymoon in Paris

When selecting your accommodations be sure to keep in mind the location.

For ease of travel around the city, you may want to stay at a hotel near a metro stop. It will be convenient for getting around to different sections of the city during the day and to restaurants at night.

There are so many beautiful hotels throughout the city to choose from.

For something truly memorable on your honeymoon, maybe try to find a hotel that offers a room with a balcony overlooking the Eiffel Tower (a lot of hotels options here). It is a breathtaking view you won’t have anywhere else in the world and you can enjoy your mornings as newlyweds sitting out on the balcony sipping your lattes.

Talk about a perfect way to spend your honeymoon in Paris!
